Recording and Mixing Engineer, Nigel Wolovick loves to make albums. Growing up in the suburbs of Boston, he cut his teeth on big band recording and live sound starting at the young age of 14, as an assistant engineer for Peter Kontrimas (PBS.) With internships at Saucer Sound and Folklorica records under the tutelage of Jah Levi, Nigel received direct recording insights from the masters of their craft. He went on to manage the Light House studio (San Anselmo, CA) and worked directly with Grammy award-winning producers and engineers such as Oz Fritz, Bill Bottrell, Jim Fox, Chris Sholar, and Khaliq Glover.
As a regular mixing engineer at Prairie Sun Recording, a destination studio in northern California, he worked directly recording greats such as Les Claypool, The Killers, Buckethead, Poor Man’s Whiskey, and many others.
Nigel is a passionate musician as well, while his critical ear lends prowess to his mixes, known for their mojo and transmissions of emotional power.
